Maria do Prazeres Beleza
1. Justice of the Supreme Court of Justice since November 2006. She was elected Vice-President of the Court in October 2018.
She is a visiting professor of the Portuguese Catholic University’ Lisbon Law School, where she teaches Civil Procedure and Civil Appeals.
2. She was a Constitutional Court Justice, elected by Parliament, between March 1998 and April 2007.
She was a consultant and director of the Centre for Technical Studies and Legal Support of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers between March 1987 and December 1992, and then director of the Legal Centre of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which replaced the former centre, between January 1993 and March 1998.
She was assistant lecturer of the University of Lisbon’s Law School, of the Portuguese Catholic University and of Lusíada University. She also worked as a legal consultant writing legal opinions and also as an arbitrator in arbitration courts.
3. She has participated in various conferences on Constitutional Law, Civil Law, Civil Procedure Law and Competition Law; she has also published several studies.
